Angela’s Story

Home Rescued Animals Angela’s Story
30 September 2019 13:21 Comments Off on Angela’s Story
Angela & Gali, together again, and forever.

Up until she came to us, Angela was just another cow in a dairy farm, number 910.
Angela is considered an old cow for the industry, at the young age of 5.5 years old.
When we met her, she was pregnant with her fourth baby and scheduled for slaughter right after giving birth. Due to a high percentage of somatic cells in her milk, she can no longer produce milk for the industry.

Her first baby was born on 30.4.2016, a blind baby girl who was cast aside because of her disability but she earned a life of freedom at FFS. That’s right, Angela is our very own Gali’s mother.
After giving birth to Gali, she had two more babies and as always in the milk industry, was separated from them within minutes.

Angela, Gali & Alex.

A very kind donor was moved by her story and decided to give her a chance to give birth at Freedom Farm Sanctuary and reunite with her daughter, exactly two years to the day Gali arrived at FFS.
As you already know, we at FFS are against paying to release farm animals because we have no desire to support this industry and create new demand.

Angela & Nir.

But this time, the moment we laid eyes on her and heard about her destiny, we couldn’t sleep. We asked for your opinion—should we make an exception and allow a pregnant cow to arrive at FFS and be the first pregnant cow in Israel to be released from a dairy farm? We all knew that no dairy farm owner will ever release a profitable product without getting paid. Thousands of you voted, 98% said YES.

Unfortunately, we received the heartbreaking news that days before her release, Angela gave birth to twin babies, stillborn. Can you imagine her raising free twins with us? We did, and now our dream is shattered.

We made a commitment together to rescue her. We committed to her freedom, and together with you, we provided an happy ending to her tragic story.

We saw the power of our wonderful community to create change when you all came together and voted yes to rescuing Angela. Now let’s come together again—choose Angela to be your Freedom Friend. Your monthly donation means everything to her, Here: https://bit.ly/2LahFoy
