Hi, my name is Nir

Home Rescued Animals Hi, my name is Nir
26 May 2019 12:41 Comments Off on Hi, my name is Nir

Just a moment ago I was in the meat industry, full of mud, feces and dirt with a terrible smell and density.

One day, when I was taken out to walk in the open field, my leg got stuck in a rock and broke. I was in a lot of pain. The people there decied that there is no choice but to amputate it.

Walking was very difficult for me. At night I was shivering in the open air and no one ever came over to stroke me or to check if i’m ok.

I was so scared! Every day me and my friends noticed that our bigger friends were being taken and loaded into trucks and we had not seen them since. We heard that something terrible was happening to them, but we didn’t want to believe it.

One day they put me isdie a truck as well! I didn’t understand where they were taking me. The ride was so long and felt like an eternity. I thought that everything my friends in the barn told me was going to happen to me too. I cried all the way and wanted so badly to go back to my friends.
Suddenly the truck stopped. I tried to peek out the window but couldn’t see anything.

Suddenly the truck doors opened, a lot of people stood there looking at me. I was so afraid of them. I already knew what they were going to do to me! I already know how people are and know they’re really bad, believe me.

Nir, before he arrived to the farm.

I was so scared so I ran out of the truck, so quickly I stumbled. I ran away as fast as I could. They quickly put me in my own cell. It was strange because it smelled good and was very clean. There was a large pile of fresh hay waiting there for me. Everything was new to me, the smells, the voices and the people spoke softly, I never heard people talking like that.

Slowly cows entered the compound. They looked just like me! They came up to me one by one and told me that I had nothing to fear of, that everyone here is very nice, that the food here is delicious, people are combing and brushing them, stroking and kissing them and I thought that maybe what I heard back then wasn’t real afterall.

Every day people entered my compound and from day to day I let them get closer to me. After a week I was so excited when they came in that I even let them sit next to me and even laid my head on them.

They even made me a special blue leg which I could walk with and even run!

Now I understand how it feels like to be safe and loved.

I hope all my friends from the barn also arrived to a place like this.
