Hi, I am Staci.
When I was born the owner of the herd noticed that I could not stand and immediately separated me from my mother. He gave me 24 hours to find a new home, otherwise, he will kill me.
In the middle of the night, volunteers from the Freedom Farm came and to pick me up.
I was so small that I was able to sit with a human in the back. I did not know who the people were, so I was quite nervous on the journey to the farm. I had already heard about calves being taken away never to return.
When I got to the farm I discovered just how lucky I was! The people on the farm did not stop hugging me, feeding me, brushing my luxurious hair and
nurturing me in every way possible. They even built me my own wheelchair so that I could run and go to the pasture like the other cows.
I had many, many friends including a rooster, a sheep and a cat who were always by my side. I even had a boyfriend named Oudi.
8 months later my impairment caused many problems for me. Still, I was surrounded by love and support until my last moments. I only wish that my brothers and sisters who remained behind could know such love.
Today I am no longer in my body but my soul is still present at FFS and in the hearts of everyone I met.
